About

Our Mission

Our mission is to help you overcome writer’s block and to give you sparks to write the perfect story.

At talecue, we believe that every great tale or story starts with a cue. But when that cue is out of reach, blank page can feel impossible. We solve that.

Talecue was born from a simple belief that every writer, whether a seasoned novelist or a curious beginner, deserves a better way to find the cues that unearth great stories

So our prompts are not just lists or one-liners. They’re miniature worlds designed to give you a plot, characters, and hooks to help you write tales that engross your audience.

Our Origin Story

Our story began over a lukewarm coffee at a local NaNoWriMo writer’s meet. We sat down and talked about what is keeping us from writing a good story.

We were not procrastinators at all. And we realized what stopped us was not our lack of desire to write good stories, but the dearth of prompts that can help us write them.

Frankly, we were tired of looking at those one-liners that pop out every time when we looked for ideas. They led nowhere and the ideas fizzled out after a paragraph or two.

That was the aha moment. The conversation shifted from complaining to designing. On a coffee-stained napkin, our founder, outlined the idea of a “near perfect prompt.”

The prompt needs a hook, a hint of conflict, and a character that is deep enough for the people who want to write about it.

We envisioned a single trusted place where every idea was a launchpad, not a puzzle. That napkin became our blue print.

Today, Talecue stands as an answer to the question we asked that day: “Can we build the resource that we can’t find?”

Talecue is a sanctuary built by writers who always worked behind the scenes. It ensures that no good story ever dies for lack of a good beginning.

Our Process: How We Craft Our Prompts

1.
Topic Mapping: We track genre trends, reader questions, and community wish-lists to ensure every prompt collection we build serves a real creative need.

2.
Prompt Drafting:  We brainstorm, outline, and stress-test each idea, checking for originality and thematic clarity to keep our prompts fresh and usable in real projects.

3.
Beta Feedback:
A small circle of expert volunteer writers test-drives our prompts in live drafting sessions, validating that they actually unlock compelling story ideas.

4.
Editorial Polish:
We remove the fluff out of the prompts by trimming them, we label them by sub-genre, and format them for easy scanning. This saves you time because you can just pick a cue and start writing.

5.
Quarterly Refresh: We revisit every guide at least once a quarter to add, remove, and to revise prompts based on user feedback. This helps us to guarantee that our collection stays relevant.

Behind The Scenes: Who We Are

We’re a small group of enthusiasts, a fully remote “maker crew”:

  • Prompt Lead – Guides topic research and prompt development.
  • Content Lead – Ensures editorial compliance and adheres with content calendar.
  • UX Architect – Crafts the clean, distraction free reading experience that you see on every page.
  • Volunteer Writers – Randomly test our prompts in an elaborate writing exercise to check for character arc and plot.
  • Technical Ops – Keeps the site lightning-fast, secure, and privacy-compliant.
  • Marketing Manager – Manages our social media and audience reach in the digital space.
  • Community Liaison – Collects user feedback and executes quarterly updates.

Our Core Principles

  • Clarity Over Cleverness: Prompts must be instantly understandable. We do not employ mental gymnastics.
  • Practical Value: Each idea should be strong enough to launch a scene, short story, or novel outline.
  • Reader-First Design: Fast page loads, distraction-free layouts, and zero spammy pop-ups.
  • Transparency: We openly share how we create and update our prompts. No ghost myths, just a straightforward process.

Who We Serve

  • Aspiring Authors who need a jump-start for drafts or NaNoWriMo projects.
  • Teachers & Workshop Leaders looking for classroom-ready story seeds.
  • Seasoned Writers seeking a fresh lens on familiar genres.
  • Writing enthusiasts who are looking for inspirations and ideas to write.

Content Integrity Statement

TaleCue’s prompts are human-curated and writer-tested. We use AI tools for internal brainstorming and research only, never for direct, unedited publication.

Every prompt you read has passed at least two human eyes and one live writing session.

We don’t have a photographer on board and we don’t use stock images. We use Canva to design all the pictures that you see on our site.

We’ll give credit where’s it’s due if we ever use images from any other site.
